BUFFALO, N.Y. — We're watching a potential for severe storms with heavy rain, damaging winds, hail or even a brief tornado later Tuesday.

A Weather Impact Alert has been issued for Tuesday and Tuesday night with this strong storm potential. TRACK THE STORM: Storm Team 2 Radar Monday will be a lovely day. It will begin to warm up into the low 70s, setting the stage for a warmer and windier day for Tuesday.



It will also start to feel a tad humid. A strong cold front will plow through Western New York Tuesday evening. Ahead of the front, temperatures will warm into the mid to upper 70s as clouds increase.

It will be rather breezy as well. A few rounds of storms are possible in the afternoon with the greatest chance in the early evening. The storms should pass through by Tuesday night leading too much cooler weather on Wednesday.

All severe weather hazards are possible with this round of storms, including heavy rain, damaging winds, hail and even the possibility of a tornado. The greatest chance for that, and that threat is low, is across the Southern Tier. The weather system responsible for Tuesday's severe weather is currently moving across Minnesota.

A significant severe weather outbreak is expected Monday and Monday night in parts of Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin. That system will have similar characteristics Tuesday, which is why the alert has been heightened a bit.
