What's on at Skipton Town Hall in the coming months?

A packed schedule of events is planned at Skipton Town Hall.

Families can look forward to a performance of 'Three Little Vikings' on May 17, an adventure story for children aged 3 to 10, created by Wrongsemble and based on Beth Woollvin’s book. On June 21, 'The Tale of the Loneliest Whale' promises an immersive journey with singing whales, handmade puppets, and a message about empathy, friendship, and neuro-diversity. Then, from July 27 to 29, 'Horrible Histories: Gorgeous Georgians and Vile Victorians' takes the stage, offering a lively look at Britain’s past with all the "nasty bits left in.

" Music lovers have several events to choose from. 'Skipton Camerata: St John Passion' is scheduled for April 19, featuring Bach’s work sung in German with English subtitles. Heidi Talbot brings her pre-album launch tour to Skipton on April 25.



The Mel Outsider Reformation, a mainstay of the north west music scene, performs on May 10. Craven Museum at the Town Hall is also hosting a range of activities. On April 25, 'Collections in Focus: Elbolton Cave' offers short talks about the cave’s history, aimed at adults and young people aged 14 and over.

On May 5, Craven Museum Relaxed Sessions will run twice during the day, making the museum more accessible for visitors with additional sensory needs. May 7 sees a behind-the-scenes 'Craven Museum Store Tour,' letting visitors get up close to items from the collection not usually on display. Artisans and shoppers can visit the Spring Makers Market on May 3, a celebration of local talent with stalls from artists, crafters, and makers from across Craven and Yorkshire.

Theatre fans are catered for too. On May 2, 'Quentin Crisp: Naked Hope' will be performed by Mark Farrelly, depicting the life and philosophy of "the original Englishman in New York," Quentin Crisp. On May 30, magician Danny Lee Grew presents '24K Magic,' a family-friendly magic show.

For those seeking a laugh, Skipton Comedy Live on May 9 will feature MC Colin Manford, Bethany Black, Tony Cowards, and Duncan Oakley on the line-up. Social dancers can enjoy the Spring Tea Dance on April 29. Blackpool Tower resident organist, John Bowdler, will provide the entertainment.
