You can’t beat a Sunday roast in West Yorkshire – plates piled high with succulent meat, fresh vegetables, fluffy potatoes and of course, the classic Yorkshire puddings. But have you ever wondered where to go for an “unpretentious” but great roast dinner in the area with family and friends? Whether you prefer to choose chicken, turkey or even a juicy slice of beef, we’ve found some of the best restaurants and pubs offering their own delicious versions of the British staple. It comes as someone posted on Reddit in the subreddit r/Yorkshire : “Meeting my mum's new boyfriend (they're both in their 60s) for the first time next week and looking for an unpretentious (no small plates/portions) pub or restaurant for a Sunday lunch.
” The user was also wanting suggestions for places that were rural too. Someone replied: “The Hawthorn in Haworth. Added benefit of being in Haworth, which is beautiful.
" A second person added: “This is one of the best places in the north! You have to book ahead but for £23 it is actually stunning.” While a third responded: “This is on my list to visit this year. Looks lovely and lots of great reviews.

Someone else wrote: “This gets my vote too.” Another popular suggestion was Cook House Bar & Kitchen on Bradford Road in Drighlington. A fan of the pub shared: “The food is amazing, and if you ask to sit in the terrace room the views are really good.
