Parts of Alberta, just north of Edmonton, have been issued an evacuation notice due to a wildfire.Saturday night, Alberta Emergency Alert said Sturgeon County issued a wildfire alert.Residents between Range Road 205 and Victoria Trail were informed that they might need to evacuate on a moment’s notice.
Sunday evening, the Evacuation Alert was expanded south of Township 580 to the North Saskatchewan River and east of RR212 to the North Saskatchewan River, as the wildfire grew and was approaching the Redwater Recreation Area.Additionally, Sunday evening, Alberta Emergency Alert said a wildfire alert was issued near Grande Prairie.RCMP in Grande Prairie said they were assisting in efforts to control a fire southwest of the city near Township Road 710 to Highway 40.
Some homes have been forced to evacuate in the area.Just before 6 p.m.
