Wimpole Estate Home Farm to host 'Springing to Life' event

The Home Farm at Wimpole Estate in Arrington is celebrating spring with the 'Springing to Life' event.

The event, which will take place from April 26 to May 11, will allow visitors to see new arrivals at the farm. Visitors will be able to see lambs, piglets, goat kids, calves, and chicks take their first steps and explore their surroundings. Piglet at Home Farm at Wimpole Estate, Cambridgeshire.

(Image: Mike Selby) Emma Warner, farm manager at the National Trust's Wimpole Estate, said: "Having always celebrated lambing time here at Wimpole Estate, this spring it will be exciting to be able to show off all of the many new arrivals on the farm at once.

(Image: Mike Selby) The farm, built in 1794, is the only in-hand farm of its kind in the National Trust and serves as a working model for sustainable agriculture. As one of the UK’s largest centres for rare breeds, Wimpole plays a vital role in the conservation of traditional livestock, including Irish Moiled and Shetland cattle, Oxford Sandy and Black pigs, Bagot goats, and rare-breed sheep.
