Low: 46. After a nice and warm start to the week, the active weather returns to the forecast looking ahead into Tuesday with thunderstorm chances. Our next chance of thunderstorms looks to roll into the region as we work into our Tuesday.
High temperatures, much warmer before that cold front rolls through that triggers the thunderstorms. High temperatures heading into the lower 80s by Tuesday afternoon. A Wind Advisory will remain in effect through 6:00 PM Tuesday for all of Southeastern Michigan.
With the strong southerly flow, we will keep sustained winds of 15-25 MPH with gusts as high as 45 MPH possible. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects, tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong could make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
Use extra caution when traveling. There is the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and evening. The Storm Prediction Center has re-introduced a Slight Risk (2 out of 5) for severe weather for most of Southeastern Michigan.
As the cold front rolls through the region, we will see the potential for damaging wind gusts in excess of 65 MPH, along with heavy rainfall. Hail is possible, but winds will be the greater threat. The tornado threat is very low as we work into Tuesday.
This cold front pulls out of the region by mid to late evening on Tuesday, and we break up the clouds overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning. As temperatures drop into the lower 40s for Metro Detroit overnight tonight into Wednesday Morning, we could see some 30s show up along and North of M-59, and this could result in some patchy frost developing in our northern communities. Drier weather returns for the middle of the week on Wednesday, but we will cool things down near reasonable temperatures.
High temperatures returning to the low end of the 60s by Wednesday afternoon. Looking heading to the end of the week, we do bring the chance of rain showers back into the forecast for Thursday and Friday, high temperatures heading for the upper 60s to lower 70s on Thursday will drop into the lower 60s for Friday, before we dry things out looking ahead into the start of next weekend on Saturday. Temperatures getting just a tad bit colder, only making it into the lower 60s for the start of next weekend.
The sunshine looks to stick around into the second half of next weekend as well. Mostly sunny skies can be expected for Sunday. High temperatures getting a little bit warmer.
We’ll head into the upper 60s by Sunday afternoon. Expect the dry weather to continue into early next week as well. Mostly sunny skies can be expected for Monday, and temperatures will warm-up again, we’ll head into the lower 70s by Monday afternoon.
