Wisconsin offensive lineman Joe Huber signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent on Saturday, as first reported by Aaron Wilson.Huber is the fifth former Badger headed to the NFL level. Hunter Wohler and Jack Nelson were each seventh-round draft selections, while Graham Mertz and Chimere Dike (via Florida) went in the sixth and fourth rounds, respectively.
Huber signs with the Vikings after two years at Wisconsin. The former Cincinnati Bearcat followed head coach Luke Fickell to Madison before the 2023 season. He went on to start all 25 games at right guard over those two seasons, operating as a key piece of a strong offensive line unit.
The Dublin, Ohio, native originally joined Cincinnati as an unranked recruit in the class of 2020. He played 20 games over three seasons with the program, that time highlighted by 12 starts at right tackle as a redshirt sophomore in 2022.The lineman was originally projected to be selected in the fifth or sixth round of this weekend's draft.
Out of the three Badgers invited to the NFL combine in February, he is the only one to go undrafted. Huber's slide follows an overall disappointing draft cycle for the Badgers. Nelson's selection at No.
