Xiaomi officially launched the Xiaomi Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro tablets for global markets in March, but details on software support were unclear at the time. Now, the company has quietly listed both devices on its Product Security Center, confirming how long each model will receive updates — and the results are a bit unexpected.Despite being the higher-end model, the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro will only receive two major Android updates (likely up to Android 17), and security patches until 2028.

In contrast, the regular Pad 7 is set to get four Android updates (up to Android 19) and security patches through 2031.That means the more affordable Pad 7 will be supported for four years of Android upgrades and six years of security patches, while the Pro version is limited to two years of Android upgrades and three years of security updates. The reason behind this is unclear, but it could also be a typographical error on their part.
