After Blake Lively and Chace Crawford, Penn Badgley is the latest cast member from Gossip Girl to fondly share memories of co-star Michelle Trachtenberg. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress died at age 39 in late February after complications of diabetes mellitus. Badgley, who was promoting the new season of his Netflix series You, called Michelle "joyous" and said she had a "really pure heart.

She was really joyous. We all have our ups and downs, our lights and shadows, but she had this — I mean, she was mature, but she had this childlike, joyous laugh.” He went on to add that her death was “really surreal” and “really saddening.
" Trachtenberg had a recurring role as troublemaker Georgina Sparks on the CW series for six seasons until the show ended in 2012.
