Pune: For Nanda, the mother of software company employee Taral Atpalkar, tragedy has struck again within two-and-a-half years. Her son Tanesh, aged 19, drowned in the Ambi river near Panshet in front of her, and on Friday, her daughter Taral, aged 28, died as she watched helplessly. Her husband passed away two years ago.

When contacted, Taral's uncle, Nandkishor Atpalkar, said, "I am not in a position to speak on the incident right now. We are in deep sorrow, and her mother and grandmother are in shock. We want justice.

" Chandrakant Patankar, former president of Vishwakarma Panchal Suvarnakar Samaj, said he has been very close to the family for the last few years. "Nanda is our member, and she works hard for the organisation. Taral completed her avionics maintenance technology course and was working with a reputed IT company in Balewadi.

She was working from home for the company. She was earning well, and we were looking for a match for her." Nanda's son Tanesh died two-and-a-half years ago in the Ambi river near Panshet, Patankar said.

"Tanesh cleared his examinations. To celebrate his success, Nanda and other family members went to Panshet. Tanesh dived into the waters, and drowned," he said, adding that Nanda witnessed it.

Later, her husband died a natural death, Patankar said. "Nanda, Taral and other family members went to the water park on a day-long trip where Taral died after falling from the zip line tower. Nanda witnessed both incidents," he said.

Patankar said the family hails from Sonapur village on Panshet Road and lives in a rented flat at Narhe. A distant family relative, Sandip Atpalkar, said, "Nanda runs a small shop where she sells women's garments to support her family. Taral was the only support for her mother.
