10 baseball teams ranked in final regular season polls

Ten Charleston-area high school baseball teams finished the regular season inside their classification's top 10 by the South Carolina Baseball Coaches Association. The postseason cranks up Monday, May 5, and wraps Saturday, May 31. Leading the way are two No.

1 squads. James Island (23-3) and Oceanside Collegiate (21-5) are the top-ranked teams in Class 5A Div. I and Class 3A.



Behind James Island in the state's largest classification, Stratford (19-4-2) is No. 4, Fort Dorchester (19-7) is No. 6 and Summerville (18-8) is tied for 10th.

Down one classification, Lucy Beckham (13-12) and Berkeley (15-10) are Nos. 8 and 10 in Class 5A Div. II.

Bishop England (17-6) is the lone ranked Class 4A team at No. 9. Sixth-ranked Hanahan (15-9-2) joins Oceanside Collegiate in Class 3A and Philip Simmons (12-13) is ranked No.
