2025 NBA mock draft: Sixers take Ace Bailey with No. 5 overall pick

The Philadelphia 76ers finished 24-58 in what was a miserable season when considering the championship expectations for this group. The Sixers were dealt a tough hand all season long as they had to battle through a ton of injuries and it led to the fifth-worst record in the league.With that being said, they did put themselves in the best position to keep their top 6 protected pick.

The draft lottery will take place on May 12 so that is when Philadelphia will know its draft fate. Obviously, the hope is that the Sixers will keep that pick so they can then add a talented young piece to a roster in need of some youth.A mock draft put together by CBS Sports has the Sixers taking Rutgers star Ace Bailey with the No.



5 overall pick:More evidence that Rutgers should've been better than it was is the fact that the Scarlet Knights finished with a losing record despite having two projected top-five picks. Bailey's upside is tremendous given that he's an electric shot-creator and shot-maker. It's just a matter of being more consistent with everything — and becoming more than just a scorer.

Bailey averaged 17.6 points and 7.2 rebounds while being a bigger guard for the Scarlet Knights.

The Sixers could always use size and another scorer to their bench unit so selecting Bailey wouldn't be the worst pick in the world. Either way, the Sixers will have plenty of options to choose from in the top 6 if they are able to keep their pick.
