The Ganga Expressway will pass through 518 villages in 12 districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, and Pratapgarh Ganga Expressway, a 594-km-long expressway project under construction between Uttar Pradesh and Delhi, is set to open to traffic soon as its construction is nearly 90 percent complete. The opening of this expressway will alleviate traffic issues for a large population in Uttar Pradesh and parts of Delhi. The expressway, connecting Meerut to Prayagraj, will cover a distance of nearly 600 km in just six hours.
Following the construction of the bridge over the railway line for the Ganga Expressway near Sonic Station on the Kanpur-Lucknow route, the installation of steel girders is currently underway. Cost According to a report by India Times , the estimated cost of the Ganga Expressway is Rs 36,230 crore. The expressway will begin at Bijauli village on the Meerut-Bulandshahr highway and end near Judapur Dadu village on NH 19 in Prayagraj.

Speed Limit The Ganga Expressway is being built on 7,467 hectares of land. Currently, the expressway is being constructed with 6 lanes, but there are plans to expand it to 8 lanes in the future.
Vehicles will be allowed to travel at speeds of up to 120 kilometres per hour on this expressway and it will feature 28 flyovers, 381 underpasses, and 126 small bridges. Public convenience complexes will be developed at 9 different locations along the Ganga Expressway. The main toll plazas are planned at Meerut and Prayagraj, with ramp toll plazas proposed at 15 locations.
The design of the expressway includes a provision for emergency landings of fighter jets and helicopters. A 3.5 km long runway is being constructed in Shahjahanpur for this purpose.
