Coming into Tuesday’s game against Braintree, Adam Kornbau’s season-high in goals was four. By the time the game was over, the Framingham attacker almost tripled that number. The junior scored 11 goals in the team’s 27-6 win over the Wamps, setting a new program record at Framingham for goals in a game.
Many of Kornbau’s goals came in close to the net, either on fast breaks or by winning ground balls, turning and scoring. “It’s great to touch double digits,” Kornbau said after the game. “Couldn’t have done it without my team.
Some of them were lucky. Just got it in front of the goalie and dunked it in.” “He’s a bright light for the future,” Framingham coach Chris Prophete added about Kornbau.
“He has a younger brother that plays youth (lacrosse) with my son who is also bought in. It’s a good family of lacrosse players.” This year is Prophete’s first leading the program at Framingham.
Through the team’s first nine games, he and his coaching staff have worked to implement a family-oriented culture that can seize momentum and build on it. The Flyers will try to build on Tuesday’s momentum when it plays its next game on Thursday against Weymouth..
