Rajalakshmi Advanced Diagnostics and Applied Radiomics (RADAR) centre was recently opened at Rajalakshmi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute in Kilpauk here. This centre, located within the Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences, was inaugurated on May 1. It will focus on the use of artificial intelligence in medical imaging and support interdisciplinary research involving medicine and engineering.
A key feature of the launch was the formal inauguration of a newly installed AI-enabled MRI machine, which will be utilised to get advanced precision diagnostics along with radiology research. “With RADAR, we are building more than just a diagnostics facility — we are shaping a collaborative lab where the best of medicine and technology can meet,” said Haree Shankar Meganathan, Vice-Chairman, Rajalakshmi Institutions. R. Mani, Vice-President and Head of Human Resources at Carborundum Universal Ltd., Murugappa Group, attended the inauguration.
Faculty members, clinicians, technologists, and students also participated in the event. The initiative is part of Rajalakshmi Health City’s broader efforts to integrate education, research, and clinical services into a unified platform, which is largely aimed at the advancement of both national and global healthcare.
