After American Pickers' alum Frank Fritz died six months ago, the keys to his antique store in Illinois were given to a close friend, who now refuses to run it.

Frank Fritz ’s antique store hasn’t done the best job of honoring his legacy. It’s been almost months since the American Pickers ’ alum passed away and his store is very close to joining the same fate as his co-star Mike Wolfe’s Nashville shop, which shut down for good earlier this month . The only difference between the two is Wolfe’s store was stocked with new antiques until the very end while Fritz’ seemed to be left in the wrong hands.

Antiques Roadshow expert floored by guest's watch that 'hit the trifecta' Gene Hackman's final autopsy reveals his official cause of death two months later The reality star’s beloved antique store, Frank Fritz Finds, is located inside his friend Jerry Gendreau’s bar Hawgdogs in Savanna. Jerry recently spoke to The Sun about how the store is doing after Frank’s passing and he revealed it’s seen brighter days. “The store has been dead a long time,” Jerry admitted.

Jerry believes “antiques have fallen out of favor” and are not as much of interest to the public anymore. He recalled: “At one time, we had 120 antique dealers here.” “What really is going on is, it's a barn full of mistakes,” he explained.

“It's all the stuff nobody wanted. The good stuff always sells and the junk hangs around.” According to the bar owner, shops like this are only successful when the owner is “current.

” Unfortunately, no one has stepped up to the plate to take on that job. “Obviously, it doesn't have any stuff anymore,” he said. “I'm not going out buying stuff.

” He continued: “Someone might come along to make it vibrant again, but that's not me or my wife or any of us.” DON'T MISS: American Pickers star Mike Wolfe announces he's taking a break from show [LATEST] American Pickers’ Mike Wolfe admits to missing the late Frank Fitz [CONFESSION] American Pickers' Mike Wolfe shares real reason he said yes to movie gig [REVEALED] “We all fell out of favor of doing that. This is more of a motorcycle town. That's why Frank came here.” Shortly after he passed, Jerry did plan on keeping the shop alive.

He told the publication: “We have been an antique store for 35 years. We’ll probably continue to be that.” Jerry originally wanted to revamp the shop “display motorcycles and choppers that represent Frank.

” “Maybe they’ll be bikes on a rack all the way down the center,” he envisioned. "We’re trying to contemplate what other people want me to do,” he added. According to fans, he hasn’t done a good job of doing that as they were displeased with the upkeep of the store, that is now covered in cobwebs and dust.

On Google , one commented: “Had Frank’s health been better I’m sure he would’ve done more with the store. RIP buddy.”.
