If Tuesday night was indeed Giannis Antetokounmpo 's final game as a Milwaukee Buck, he went out with a bang. The Bucks star did everything he could to help his team avoid elimination in Game 5 against the Indiana Pacers, recording 30 points, 20 rebounds and 13 assists. But a Tyrese Haliburton layup in overtime sent Milwaukee packing in Round 1 after a 4-1 series loss.
After the final buzzer, a scuffle broke out between the teams and was headlined by a heated confrontation between Antetokounmpo and Haliburton's father, John Haliburton, who was sitting courtside. Antetokounmpo said post-game that the altercation started because John got up close and personal to gloat about the win. "I believe in being humble in victory, that's the way I am," Antetokounmpo said.
"...
I'm happy for him and I'm happy for his son, but coming to me, and disrespecting me and cursing at me, I think is totally unacceptable." Tyrese Haliburton was also asked about the altercation after the game, and believes his father was in the wrong. "I don't think that my pops was in the right at all there," Haliburton said ".
.. We will have a conversation and I'll talk to Giannis.
It's unfortunate, we're all grown men." The altercation put a sour note on what should've been a celebratory night for the Pacers, as they will move on to Round 2 to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers. Meanwhile, the Bucks now head into an off-season full of question marks, including the future of Antetokounmpo.
A Buck for his entire career, trade speculation has surrounded the two-time MVP and is sure to increase after an early playoff exit..
