Asafo-Adjei Pays Tribute to Paapa Owusu Ankomah

Asafo-Adjei Ayeh, has heaped praise on former MP for Sekondi, Paapa Owusu Ankomah, calling him a “walking encyclopedia” for his wealth of knowledge and invaluable contributions during his 20 years in Parliament. During a radio interview, Asafo-Adjei reflected on how he looked up to Owusu Ankomah for his calmness and intellectual depth.

He noted that during moments of intense debate, Speaker Rt. Hon. Doe Adjaho would often turn to Owusu Ankomah for guidance, showing the level of respect he commanded.



“When tensions flared in the House and he rose to speak, everyone—including the Speaker—listened closely. His words always brought insight and often resolved the confusion,” Asafo-Adjei remarked. He revealed that as a young aspiring politician, he made it a habit to read Hansards and closely follow Owusu Ankomah’s speeches and parliamentary interventions.

“He’s someone I deeply respect. I’d like to take this chance to greet him and express my admiration—he’s played a big role in shaping my political journey,” he added. Owusu Ankomah, known for his ministerial service and legal acumen, remains a towering figure in Ghanaian politics, continuing to inspire emerging leaders in Parliament.
