Autumn Luna appointed as Santa Rosa's new Chief Assistant City Attorney, bringing 12 years of municipal law experience.

The City of Santa Rosa has announced a significant move in its legal department with the appointment of Autumn Luna as the new Chief Assistant City Attorney, set to assume her role on June 23. With a solid 12 years of municipal law experience, Luna is expected to steer the city's legal endeavors during economically arduous times. Luna's background aligns with the city's forward-thinking vision, especially her time spent in the City of Eureka, where she has been juggling responsibilities including operational management, budget, and personnel for the City Attorney’s office, as well as contributing an extensive array of legal services.

Eureka has thrived under her legal guidance, with strides towards affordable housing, inclusive transportation options, and a bustling downtown scene. The City of Santa Rosa's news release expressed enthusiasm about her appointment, citing City Attorney Teresa Stricker: "We are delighted to welcome Autumn to our team. Her proven track record as a creative and experienced city attorney will be invaluable as we continue to navigate complex legal issues and work towards the betterment of our community during these fiscally challenging times.



" Prior to her role in Eureka, Luna has served Del Norte County as Assistant County Counsel. Her work there included providing counsel to departments integral to public welfare and governance such as the Sheriff's Department, Department of Health and Human Services, and the County Clerk Recorder/Elections Officer. Luna's legal chops were not just confined to municipal engagements; she had been a partner at the Black & Rice law firm, where her legal prowess extended to private clients and government agencies alike, showcasing her versatility and depth in her field.
