In an exclusive interview with Zoom, Babil Khan revealed how he was trolled for crying while receiving an award for his late father, Irrfan Khan. He went on to share that his mother, Sutapa Sikdar, stood for him.

Babil Khan is currently making waves for his role in the film Logout. His father, Irrfan Khan, was a legendary star who proved his acting mettle in Bollywood as well as Hollywood. The actor had received many awards before his passing in 2020.

Post the actor's passing Babil attended award ceremonies and received the trophies on behalf of his late father. In one of the award ceremonies, Babil was called upon to receive the award on behalf of his father, and Babil burst into tears. The Qala star was trolled for crying while receiving the trophy.



Now, in an exclusive chat with Zoom, Babil recalled the trolling he suffered and how his mom Sutapa Sikdar, helped in dealing with it. Babil Khan on being trolled for crying during award award ceremony The 26-year-old star shared, "I went up on stage to collect my father's award, and I was crying a lot. I was crying throughout, and it was a very emotional journey for me.

I got trolled for it. I think my mom (Sutapa Sikadar) just stood up for me, that's my mom." He went on to talk about how trolling is meant to break a person.

Babil added, "It can break you and it has to break you. There is this Japanese way of mending broken vessels with gold (Kintsugi). That concept is so beautiful - something that is fixed after it's broken and it's mended back, it's so much more beautiful.

The pain you deny will always haunt you, but the pain you carry as a friend will always evolve you as a person." This is where the fault lies.

The world is not right, the people are cruel to me, but I realised I'm the one giving the power - to their opinions, to let it affect me. Of course, it will hurt. Let it hurt, it's okay.

It'll be very scary the next time you'd like to share poetry or something that people don't accept, but that's the point. You have to feel that fear, pain, anxiety and go for it." He went on to share that he wrote a comeback rap in response to the rolling that was happening at the time.
