The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) made bold moves and sacked assistant coach Abhishek Nayar following India's disastrous outing in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, according to a report in Dainik Jagran. India's performance in the Tests saw a significant dip last year as the team suffered series defeats to New Zealand and Australia. The BGT was a nightmare for the Rohit Sharma-led side.

The performance from the players was below par, and the dressing room leaks added to the already miserable environment within the team. The report also reveals that Fielding Coach T Dilip & Trainer Soham have also been relieved of their duties. BCCI had hinted that support staff who have completed a three-year tenure with Team India will be removed from their roles.

While Dilip and Soham had completed their tenure with Team India, Abhishek Nayar was removed eight months after taking over as the assistant coach.Meanwhile, the BCCI is unlikely to hire replacements for T Dilip and Abhishek Nayar, but Adrian Le Roux will replace Soham in the support staff. South Africa's Le Roux is currently part of the Indian Premier League, working with Punjab Kings.
