Hit Sky gameshow A League of Their Own has been axed after 15 years as the broadcaster plans a special farewell episode. It was first aired on Sky One back in 2010, and is one of Sky's longest-running entertainment shows. Series 20 will be the show's last and will be airing this summer.
In a statement, Sky announced: "After fifteen years in the top-flight of TV, Sky’s much-loved sports comedy panel show is set for one final glorious season. "The team will begin filming its farewell series in Manchester this August — in front of its largest live audiences to date — ahead of airing on Sky Max and streaming on NOW later this year. "Romesh Ranganathan will return to host the 20th anniversary series, alongside team captains Jamie Redknapp and Jill Scott, and series regular Micah Richards.
" Phil Edgar-Jones, Executive Director of Original Unscripted at Sky, said: "Series 20 is the perfect opportunity to celebrate everything A League of Their Own has achieved and to give it the send-off it truly deserves. "We’re incredibly proud of the show — it’s been a cornerstone of Sky’s entertainment line-up for fifteen years and has delivered endless laughter, heart, and unforgettable moments. Huge thanks to the brilliant team at CPL Productions and to our fantastic on-screen line-up — Romesh, Jamie, Jill and Micah — who continue to bring such energy and chemistry to the show.
