Yes Unlimited chief Di Glover said excitement was building across the community because "it's fantastic odds to win".
Up for grabs is a brand-new 2025 Volkswagen T-Cross Life 7 Speed DSG in smokey grey, with tickets costing $100. "There's fantastic odds of just one in 2000," "Importantly, it will help Betty's Place continue to be a safe haven for women and children escaping domestic violence and hardship. "We simply do not have the resources or the funding we need to meet the growing demand.
"The $170,000 target will ensure we can better meet the needs of our community. "It will also help cover the shortfall for our new cluster housing project and keep Betty's Place looking The car raffle has been a labour of love, with businesswoman Rosy Seaton, owner of the Traverse Alpine Group, playing a big part. "We saw an opportunity to make a real difference," she said.
"This raffle will help raise much-needed funds for Betty's. With only 2000 tickets available, the odds are incredible." Fundraising executive at Traverse Alpine Group Terri Hollis said it had been two years in the making.
"Rosy and I spoke about how important it was to up our game and maximise what we could raise to help Betty's," Ms Hollis said. "This amount of money will help cover major costs to support Betty's, but it's also important to remember it will help with all the little things too - the things we often take for granted." About $102,000 was raised at last year's event, but with a new car up for grabs and Ms Hollis said she's hopeful this year's total would surpass that, showcasing the generosity of the community.
"We sold out tickets for the event in just an hour, which was amazing," she said. "We could have sold another six tables. "We are extremely grateful for the continued support.
" Raffle tickets can be bought for $100 at Albury Newsagent in Olive Street, by scanning posters displayed around the Border, online at or by emailing Terri at Sarah at [email protected].
Ms Hollis and Ms Seaton said every ticket purchased brought Betty's Place one step closer to ensuring no woman or child in need would be turned away. "We will continue selling tickets for the car until we sell all 2000 tickets," Ms Hollis said. "And buyers are encouraged to team up if needed - friends and families have already been pooling together to purchase tickets.
