Qatar tribune Tribune News Network Doha Birla Public School (BPS) has delivered exceptional performance in the International French Competition, held on January 16 this year. The event was organised by Prayatna Educational Society of India in collaboration with the Quebec Government Office, the Consulate General of Mumbai, and Alliance Française de Rouen. Students from Grades IV to X studying French participated in the competition.
It featured two key contests: French Word Power (FWP) and Concours Romain Rolland (CRR). Students participated in both contests, based on their interest and language proficiency. The competition was conducted in two stages, culminating in the Global Excellence Round, for which 109 students from BPS qualified.
The preliminary regional level saw the participation of 207 Birlites in a pen-and-paper format. The final round tested students across the four core linguistic skills: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. Agniya Arokianadhen of Grade V secured third position in the Concours Romain Rolland A1.
1 Level, receiving a cash prize of Rs5000, a Gold Medal, and merit as well as participation certificates. Mikhail Vincent Paul of Grade IV secured fourth position and won a Gold Medal in the Concours Romain Rolland A1.1 Level, along with merit and participation certificates.
Additionally, nine students won gold, six students won silver, and eight students won bronze medals in the Global Excellence round based on their performance. In addition, Birlites did a remarkable performance in the French Word Power (FWP) contest, bringing further accolades to the school. All the participants were awarded merit and participation certificates based on their scores in both French Word Power (FWP) and Concours Romain Rollan (CRR) A1.
1 Level. This achievement highlights not only the students’ understanding the French language but also their ability to compete and excel on an international platform. It also reflects the school’s continued commitment to fostering multilingual competence and cultural awareness.
The school management congratulated both the winners and the participants. The school leadership also appreciated the commendable achievement of the French Department under the leadership of Maria Phentalia – Head of the Department, for its dedicated support in nurturing young linguistic talents.
