Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has made history by becoming the first political leader to be inducted into the Society of Neuroscientists of Africa’s Hall of Fame. The prestigious award recognizes his unwavering commitment to science and research in Africa. The Society, in a gesture of appreciation for the Governor’s support, has expressed readiness to partner with Yobe State’s Biomedical Research and Training Center, designating it as a regional hub for science and research in Africa.

Presenting the award, Prof. Bello Kawuwa, Yobe State Commissioner for Higher Education, urged the Governor to institutionalize a funding programme for science and research through a legal framework with a dedicated budget for sustainability. The Governor’s recognition by the Society of Neuroscientists of Africa underscores his dedication to promoting scientific development and advancement in Yobe State and beyond.
