Lahore - Punjab Police’s campaign for the evacuation of illegally residing foreign nationals is continuing rapidly, under which 11,116 illegally residing foreign nationals including Afghans have been evacuated from across the province including Lahore. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that during the campaign, 11,737 illegally residing individuals have been shifted to holding centers, while 621 illegally residing individuals are currently present at the holding points.
Punjab Police spokesperson said that 05 holding centers have been established in Lahore and 46 across the province. IG Punjab said that the policy of evacuation of illegally residing individuals is being implemented in accordance with international laws and that security is on high alert. The evacuation of all illegally residing individuals will be ensured, and human rights are being fully considered during the evacuation process.
Dr. Usman Anwar directed the CCPO Lahore, RPOs, and DPOs to accelerate the process of evacuation of illegally residing foreign migrants. IG Punjab further said that illegal foreign residents are being identified through Special Branch, CTD, security agencies, and intelligence-based information.
