During the Top 11 competition, she received praise from the judges panel, which included Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson, for her rendition of Alone by Heart. After her performance, she wrote: "I, despite my mile-high hair, did a wonderful job tonight.

” Carrie continued reading, "All the judges praised me.” "Simon told me that I was not just the girl to beat, but the person to beat.” “He then went on to make a prediction that I would not only win the AI competition, but I would sell more albums than any other American Idol [winner] has,” she said.

At the time, Carrie was not expecting such comments, even despite the judge’s clear affection towards her. She went on, "I mean, I know that Simon loves me, but that was a total shocker!" The singer became one of the most well-known winners from the show, selling over 85 million records worldwide and having 19 singles hit the top of the Billboard charts. Within the comments, fans reminded Carrie that she rightfully earned that spot in American Idol history.
