Celebrity Big Brother's Marisha Wallace receives British citizenship

Celebrity Big Brother star Marisha Wallace officially becomes a British citizen.

The 39-year-old performer was born in the US and began her career on Broadway but since 2017 she has been a firm fixture of the West End scene, appearing in shows such as Dreamgirls , Waitress and Hairspray . Wallace recently decided to British citizenship and was accepted today at an official ceremony at Bromley council. According to the Daily Mail , she said: "I feel like I graduated and got married all on the same day.

"I feel really proud - when I got here eight years ago, I was embraced. Today was like the final adoption papers. "I'm really proud to be British and I've always felt British.



I sang the national anthem at the Royal Variety Show last year and getting the King Charles 's seal of approval was so special. "I've always wanted to be a leading lady and I didn't get that opportunity in America. In the UK, it was never even a doubt or question - I never had to second guess it.

"I've got to play roles I don't think I would be able to play on Broadway. All my dreams came true here, and I didn't even know it was where I was supposed to be." Wallace, who was evicted fifth in her series of CBB , went on to celebrate at a party in Leicester Square attended by celeb friends including Billy Porter - her current co-star in Cabaret - former Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips and CBB housemate Zeze Millz .
