“ We would like to inform you of the progress of our legal response to malicious posts and comments regarding our artist Cha Eun-woo,” it said in Korean. “Previously, we informed you that we would respond strongly to acts of spreading false information or writing malicious posts regarding our artist by abusing anonymity on SNS and various communities.” “Accordingly, based on the results of our own monitoring and reports sent in by fans, we have compiled the spread of false information, defamation, malicious posts and comments regarding our artist Cha Eun-woo and submitted a complaint to the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul today (April 25),” it continued.
The talent management company further noted that they are conducting continuous monitoring and will take active legal action “ against acts that infringe upon the rights of [their] artists, such as this incident.” It also urged netizens to stop spreading false information and malicious posts about Cha. “We will continue to do our best to protect our artists,” it added.
