Chinese automaker Chery is aiming high with its luxury brand, marketed as Exeed in China and Exlantix in Israel, unveiling the Phecda — a large SUV concept. Measuring 5.3 meters in length with a 3.
2-meter wheelbase, the Phecda is designed to seat six passengers in a popular Chinese layout featuring two captain’s chairs in the second row. Entry is via rear-hinged back doors without a central B-pillar, though it remains uncertain whether this feature will reach production. 6 View gallery ( Photo: Nir Ben Zaken ) 6 View gallery ( Photo: Nir Ben Zaken ) Inside, the Phecda features a large touchscreen and a steering wheel styled after an airplane control stick.
The vehicle is also equipped with an air purification system that can operate automatically in polluted areas, using data from its navigation system. Power comes from four electric motors — one at each wheel — delivering a combined 1,196 horsepower. The Phecda will be offered as a full electric model or as a range-extended hybrid, using a gasoline engine to charge the battery and offering an estimated range of about 2,000 kilometers.
Adaptive air suspension and rear-wheel steering (up to 7 degrees) are included, allowing a tight turning circle similar to that of a compact sedan (10.8 meters). 6 View gallery ( Photo: Nir Ben Zaken ) 6 View gallery ( Photo: Nir Ben Zaken ) Meanwhile, Chery’s off-road division, Jetour, introduced the G900, a prototype for a new flagship SUV under its premium sub-brand Zongheng, which means "the ability to reach anywhere" in Mandarin.

It also includes a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine acting as a generator to recharge the high-voltage (800V) battery, enabling ultra-fast charging from 20% to 80% in just six minutes. According to Jetour, the G900 is also capable of floating and crossing bodies of water, similar to BYD’s Yangwang U8.
