Church Senator-elect reflects on passing of Pope Francis

His final public appearance was on Easter Sunday in St Peter’s Square at the Vatican, where he addressed the faithful gathered to celebrate the resurrection of Christ.In Belize, Senator-Elect representing the Churches, Pastor Louis Wade, issued a message of sympathy to the worldwide Roman Catholic community, particularly the members of the Church in Belize. “I take this opportunity to convey my sincere condolences to the worldwide Roman Catholic Church family,” the senator, who comes from the Evangelical (Nazarene) community, stated.



“As we mourn, let us also take time to reflect on his legacy and the values he instilled in us.”The senator encouraged the faithful in Belize to find strength in their faith during this somber time. “May we, in this time, gain strength and comfort from our Lord and Savior, who is our Resurrection and our Life,” he added.

A memorial mass has been scheduled in Belize for next Monday, April 28, while preparations get underway for the Pope’s funeral.
