Conference Player of the Year Announces Transfer Portal Decision on Sunday

Transfer portal commitments have been rolling in since the end of the college basketball season, giving teams around the country fresh faces in their national title hunt. One of the latest commitments came out of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. Blake Harper, a former Howard Bison guard, announced his official transfer portal destination after his freshman season in the MEAC.

Harper is headed to play for Greg McDermott and the Creighton Bluejays in the Big East Conference, which features some of the most talented teams in the country, such as UConn and St. John's. "You can’t say i ain’t earn it??" Harper said.

4 assists per game. He was the Bison's most consistent starter throughout the college basketball season. After his freshman season at Howard, Harper was widely regarded as one of the most intriguing prospects in the transfer portal.

According to 247Sports, Harper was listed as the No. 25 small forward and the No. 126 overall player in the transfer portal rankings.

When Harper originally committed to Howard, he was an unranked prospect. He received offers from the following schools out of the high school ranks: Howard, Radford, Fordham and Manhattan. He'll be playing in one of the most prestigious conferences in college basketball, the Big East, led by McDermott, one of the most underrated coaches in the country.
