An official launch event for the Weymouth and Portland Towns of Culture scheme will kick off today. The launch party will begin at Saint Nics Gallery in St Nicholas Street, Weymouth from 7pm to 10pm, in a celebration featuring live music, performance, and a vibrant pop-up creative hub from students at Weymouth College. Entry is free and open to all.
TOC25 (Image: Supplied) During the evening, there will also be a ‘Culture Crawl,’ a dedicated trail of live performances and cultural happenings across Weymouth. Particular highlights include Abigail’s Party which is taking place from 7.45pm to 9.

Additionally, the Circus of Thieves Pop Punk Party, which will begin at 8.
30pm, at the Gloucester, Weymouth Esplanade will feature a variety of 80s-2,000s music This is all part of REVEAL, a year-long programme celebrating the people, stories, and creativity that make our towns truly unique. As reported by the Echo, ‘REVEAL’ is part of a new County of Culture scheme which will see a town, village or hamlet named the cultural capital of Dorset and lead to a year of cultural activity, backed by funding. According to the committee, ‘this programme aims to showcase the existing cultural activities while introducing new and exciting events and activities that align with the project's goal of positively impacting the towns throughout 2025.
’ Further linked events taking place over the weekend includes a ‘unique roving outdoor performance by an inclusive ensemble of playful troublemakers.’ Ramshacklicious and Hijinx will be performing in New Bond Street, Weymouth on Saturday, April 26 at 11.30am and 2.
