VEHARI - Deputy Commissioner Vehari, Imrana Tauqeer, has directed a continuous and strict crackdown against overloaded vehicles to protect highways from damage. She issued these orders while chairing a meeting regarding the Axle Load Management Regime, attended by DPO Muhammad Afzal, ADC Revenue Syed Usman Munir, AC Vehari Ghazala Kanwal, and other officials. During the meeting, the Transport Department, Traffic Police, and Punjab Highway Patrol briefed on axle load management and performance.

DC Imrana Tauqeer emphasized strict legal action against transporters exceeding approved weight limits, heavy fines, and seizure of vehicles involved in repeated violations. She instructed that loader vehicles must carry valid weight slips, more weight stations be registered, and departments coordinate for better load management. Public awareness campaigns were also stressed to ensure effective implementation.



Speaking at the meeting, DPO Muhammad Afzal stressed checking vehicle route permits, fitness certificates, and drivers’ licenses.
