VEHARI - On the special directives of Vehari Deputy Commissioner Imrana Tauqeer significant decisions have been taken in the district regarding the education and health sectors. These include the promotion of teachers, recruitment drives, and review of the ongoing anti-polio campaign. During a meeting of the Board of Governors of Divisional Public School (DPS) Burewala, 13 teachers were promoted from Educator-I to II, and 19 from II to III.
Approval was also granted for a qualification allowance—Rs. 10,000 for PhD holders and Rs. 5,000 for MPhil holders.
An increase in allowances for various coordinators was also approved. Furthermore, admission fees for new students at DPS Gaggo Mandi have been waived for one year. The DC emphasised that all available resources will be utilised to improve educational standards and ensure quality learning facilities for students.
Following the DC’s directions, the recruitment process for teachers at DPS Burewala and DPS Gaggo Mandi has been initiated. Under the supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Syed Usman Munir Bukhari, interviews were conducted at the DC Office. Out of 121 candidates who cleared the Central Testing Service exam, 19 teachers will be selected strictly on merit, competence, and transparency.
These positions include teachers for Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Botany, Mathematics, Computer Science, Urdu, English, General subjects, and a Psychologist for the Autism Centre. Later, in a meeting to review the second day’s performance of the ongoing anti-polio campaign, DC Imrana Tauqeer stressed the importance of vaccinat ing every child under five to protect them from lifelong disability. She directed all field teams to work with national spirit and commitment to ensure no child is missed.
