The confirmation was made directly by the newly appointed CEO of the Miss Universe Organisation, Nawat Itsaragrisil. The update was shared during a TikTok livestream by Itsaragrisil, who revealed that Lisa had been invited to headline the event, which is set to take place in Thailand.
Why did Blackpink’s Lisa turn down the Miss Universe offer? Despite the excitement surrounding the potential collaboration, it was explained that the deal could not be finalised. “Scheduling conflicts” were cited by Lisa’s management as the primary reason for declining the opportunity. It was further stated by Itsaragrisil that “it wasn’t an easy job to strike a deal with her management team,” highlighting the challenges faced in reaching a consensus.
Several rounds of negotiation were reportedly undertaken in an attempt to secure Lisa’s appearance, but the talks were ultimately concluded without success. The disappointment was echoed by fans, many of whom had anticipated seeing the artist return to her home country’s stage in a high-profile global event.
