Country music legend Doug Gray shared a disappointing update with fans as he revealed he was forced to drop out of the Marshall Tucker Band tour due to health issues. The band shared the announcement this week, revealing that the 76-year-old country singer needed to take a temporary break from the stage due to unspecified health concerns . Taking to their official Instagram page, the Marshall Tucker Band wrote, "Doug Gray, the lead singer and founding member of The Marshall Tucker Band, will be taking a hiatus from the road due to health concerns.

" The post continued, "The band will journey ahead and continue performing live on our 2025 All Our Friends Tour as planned. Though Doug will be temporarily off the stage, the tour will roll on with scheduled dates starting May 9 in West Wendover, NV, at the Peppermill Concert Hall. That includes all live performances with our friends JJ Grey & Mofro, Bachman-Turner Overdrive (BTO), and Jefferson Starship.

" Including a statement from Doug himself, he wrote, "Taking care of business as I always do. Thanks and see you soon." He then further went on to add, "Everyone knows I'm not one to sit on my hands.

I'll be making sure all of the stars are aligned. Let's rock!" The band went on to add that although Doug might not be on stage with them, he will be "fully involved" in all of the other aspects of their tour and that he looks forward to rejoining them as soon as possible. Under the post, Doug was met with an outpouring of love from fans, sending their well wishes and hopes for a speedy recovery.

One fan commented, "I want to see you in concert so bad, but your health and getting some rest is so much more important. Blessings to ya." And another added, "Plenty of talent in MTB to hold down the fort till Doug's back in the saddle.

Get well [red heart emoji]." While a third supporter suggested, "Get back on the beach if you can. Sunlight and waves crashing and salty air is so therapeutic.

Hope you recover soon." While someone else wrote: "Heal fast with whatever is happening! Don't let any grass grow under your feet. We'll be waiting for ya!" This update comes as The Marshall Tucker Band is currently on their 2025 tour celebrating the band's 54th year together.

The tour initially kicked off on January 31st in Knoxville, Tennessee, and will extend throughout the year with various dates and locations, including stops in Texas, Arizona, Kentucky, Georgia, Florida, and more. The country band is known for a number of smash hits over the years, including Can't You See, Heard It in a Love Song, and Fire on the Mountain.
