I grew up from an immigrant start, and my parents certainly weren’t happy that I am leaving the prototypical job of a heart surgeon and kind of every Indian’s wet dream, with like perfect sort of situations and lots of friends and the head of the hospital.

But I could operate, at the most, on 3-5 patients with open heart surgery and in a year maybe 500 patients.” ALSO READ: Dr Shriram Nene Hints At Being Overshadowed By Madhuri Dixit's Fame: My Wife Is Famous, I’m Here For The Ride In January, on a panel discussion hosted by the founder and CEO of INK, Lakshmi Pratury, Dr Nene shared how he became famous instantly after returning to Mumbai and being called ‘Madhuri’s husband.’ He said, I’m the accidental Yankee in King Arthur’s court, and the incidental tourist, if you will.
