Qatar tribune Tribune News Network Doha Dreama Orphan Care Center observed its Arab Orphan Day 2025 campaign under the theme ‘A Radiant Light’, over the course of Thursday and Friday, April 10 and 11, at Wisdom Square in Katara, with broad community attendance and participation of partners, institutions, and prominent public figures. The overarching goal of the ‘A Radiant Light’ campaign is to promote community engagement in the integration and empowerment of orphans, allowing them to shine as beacons of hope and contribution in society. The campaign also aimed to highlight the role of orphans in the advancement of communities, while highlighting the society’s role in nurturing their skills and supporting their development into active and capable individuals.

The event was honoured by the visit of Assistant Undersecretary for Family Affairs Sheikha Sheikha bint Jassim Al Thani, who affirmed the vital role played by Dreama in providing holistic care, empowerment, and social integration for orphans. Also in attendance were official partners, executive directors of sister organisations, and well-known community figures who expressed their support for Dreama’s children through direct interaction and heartfelt messages. One of the highlights of the event was the “Community Wishes for Orphans” initiative, which allowed visitors to listen to pre-recorded voice messages from Dreama’s children sharing their wishes, and respond with either written or recorded audio messages of encouragement.

The event also featured interactive art corners for children, including sand art, painting, and the distribution of symbolic giveaways inspired by the campaign. In a press statement, Sheikha Najla bint Ahmed Al Thani, executive director of Dreama, said: “At Dreama, we believe that empowering orphans begins with creating a nurturing environment that strengthens their self-confidence and offers equal opportunities in both education and life. Our vision extends beyond daily care to include a comprehensive system of psychological, social, and behavioural support that enables children to grow in safe and stimulating environments — whether within the centre or in foster families.

” Sheikha Najla also revealed several upcoming initiatives that the centre is planning to implement during the year, including specialized programs in mental health and creative expression, in addition to strengthening ongoing collaborations with international organizations such as UNESCO and UNICEF. The event was met with warm engagement from visitors, who shared meaningful and uplifting moments with Dreama’s children in a spirit of compassion and community. The event stood as a reflection of Dreama’s ongoing mission to create a supportive ecosystem in which orphans are not only cared for, but empowered to thrive and take their place as positive contributors to society.
