Dwayne Johnson Makes His A24 Debut in 'The Smashing Machine' with Emily Blunt - Watch the Trailer!

Could this be the year that Dwayne Johnson gets an Oscar nomination?! The 52-year-old actor, also known by his wrestling name of The Rock, is going back to his roots to play legendary mixed martial arts & UFC fighter Mark Kerr in the upcoming movie The Smashing Machine . Dwayne reunites with his former Jungle Cruise co-star Emily Blunt in the upcoming film, written and directed by Benny Safdie . The movie also stars Ryan Bader , Bas Rutten , and Oleksandr Usyk .

The Smashing Machine will be released by A24, the studio behind movies such as Everything Everywhere All at Once , Uncut Gems , Midsommar , and Moonlight . The trailer for the movie is out now and the film will be hitting theaters on October 3. While filming the movie, Dwayne suffered an elbow injury and revealed the damage in a video.
