By Ismail Azeez, OsogboThe Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Osun State Command has stationed 1,600 personnel at key locations across the state to ensure a peaceful and secure Easter celebration.State Commandant, Igbalawole Sotiyo, confirmed that personnel have been deployed to various strategic areas, including markets, places of worship, recreational centres, and other public spaces, to enforce security during the festive period.In a statement released on Thursday, the NSCDC’s spokesperson, ASC Kehinde Adeleke, assured that the command is committed to safeguarding lives and property throughout the Easter celebrations.

“This deployment aims to prevent potential security breaches and ensure that the people of Osun State can celebrate Easter peacefully, without disruption,” the statement read.Commandant Sotiyo further reinforced the command’s dedication to creating a safe environment for everyone during and after the festivities. He urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest NSCDC office or other security agencies.



“I have instructed all Area Commanders and Divisional Officers across the state to maintain heightened alertness and prioritise public safety before, during, and after the celebration,” Sotiyo added.He also appealed to the people of Osun to cooperate fully with security personnel and promptly report any concerns related to safety.Finally, Sotiyo encouraged Christian faithful to embrace the lessons of peace and love taught through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, fostering a spirit of unity throughout the Easter season.
