Filipino Olympian and pole vaulter EJ Obiena finished seventh overall in the Xiamen leg of the Diamond League held Saturday at the Xiamen Egret Stadium in China. Obiena needed two attempts to officially clear the 5.62-meter bar.

He tried to jump at the 5.72-meter mark but fell short in three tries. Sweden's Mondo Duplantis ruled the tournament as he cleared 5.



92 meters, followed by Greece's Emmanouil Karalis and The Netherlands' Menno Vloon who both jumped 5.82 meters. Karalis, however, finished second due to countback.
