On April 12, 26 people died in a terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Model Ekta Tiwari unknowingly interacted with two suspects posing as mule handlers. On April 12, India saw a brutal terror attack as 26 people were killed and several others injured when gunmen opened fire on tourists in Pahalgam.

This incident is one of the most tragic attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. In a shocking claim following the terror attack, model Ekta Tiwari from Jaunpur claims that she had unknowingly come into contact with two of the suspected terrorists. According to her, the men, whose sketches were released by security agencies, had posed as mule handlers and were with her group during a family trip.

Ekta returned home just two days before the attack took place. Speaking to News18 Hindi, Ekta Tiwari recalled feeling uneasy about the behaviour of the mule handlers during her trip, which led her to secretly record videos of them. “We left Pahalgam on April 21.

Now, after seeing the sketches released by the authorities, I realise I had a close brush with death," she said. Ekta shared that what started as a simple plan for a mule ride quickly took an unsettling turn. She had made a casual booking through a local handler, but was surprised when unfamiliar faces showed up instead.

“Two unknown men came along with the mule handler. They started asking me about Ajmer. I told them I had never been there.

Then they began questioning me about Amarnath Yatra – how many people had come, what our religion was, etc. I was scared and didn’t reveal the truth. They also asked personal questions about my husband and marriage.

Then they asked if I read the Quran and what religion I follow more. One even claimed to be a Quran teacher," she recalled. The model also shared that the trip had started on April 13 with a visit to Vaishno Devi, and they reached Pahalgam on April 20 after stopping at Sonmarg and Srinagar.

Ekta claimed that the men grew increasingly pushy during the trip, attempting to pressure her group into going with them to Baisaran Valley. “They insisted on taking us to Baisaran Valley, but we didn’t go. They were angry and misbehaved with us.

We even have videos of the incident. More than half of our group returned early. Out of the sketches released, I recognise one of the terrorists," she said.

Ekta further shared that the men made offensive comments about her faith and religious identity. “These individuals misbehaved with me for not reading the Quran and for wearing a rudraksha mala," she said. She further claimed, “One of the mule handlers even had a keypad phone hidden inside his shoe.

" After returning home, Ekta wasted no time in reporting the incident. She registered her inputs with the CM Helpline (1076) and also informed a relative who serves in the CISF. “It’s terrifying to think we were so close to danger.

I strongly feel that people with such extreme ideologies should not be allowed to mingle with tourists or hide in plain sight," she added. The terror strike in Pahalgam unfolded around 2:30 pm on Tuesday, leaving behind a trail of heartbreak and horror. Among the 26 victims were a young Navy officer, newly married just days earlier, and an Intelligence Bureau official who was gunned down in front of his wife.

Officials confirmed that the casualties also included two foreign nationals, from the UAE and Nepal, as well as two local residents. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was on an official visit to Saudi Arabia when the Pahalgam terror attack occurred, cut his trip short and returned to India early this morning. In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), the Prime Minister expressed deep anguish over the incident.

“I strongly condemn the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir," he wrote. “Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that the injured recover at the earliest.

All possible assistance is being provided to those affected." He assured that justice will be delivered, stating firmly, “Those behind this heinous act will be brought to justice..

. they will not be spared. Their evil agenda will never succeed.

Our resolve to fight terrorism is unshakable and it will only grow stronger.".
