Shares 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 Since its release in 2022, FromSoftware’s open-world action role-playing game Elden Ring has steadily risen to become one of gaming’s greats, and the title has just achieved another massive milestone by selling over 30 million copies worldwide. To mark the momentous occasion, FromSoftware posted an appreciation post on its social media pages for the game, which read: “Dearest Tarnished, we are profoundly thankful for your lasting devotion. May your path be forever guided by the Grace of Gold.
” This latest milestone comes shortly after reports in December last year that the game had sold 28.6 million copies at the time, making it not only the best-selling game from the studio but also outselling the entire Dark Souls series , which had a combined total of 27 million copies sold prior to Elden Ring’s release. The latest figures mean that in just four months, the game has sold over 1.
4 million copies, an incredible achievement considering its age. Elden Ring was already a great game in its own right when it launched in February 2022, but its massive post-launch DLC, released two years later, Shadow of the Erdtree , certainly helped to boost sales even further. Still, despite all its successes, game director Hidetaka Miyazaki recently revealed that the studio has no plans for a direct sequel in the pipeline, with separate reports confirming that Shadow of the Erdtree would be the game’s only DLC .
Still, this doesn’t mean that it’s the end of the adventures in the Lands Between, as a co-op spinoff Elden Ring: Nightreign is currently in the works, alongside a port of the game on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 . FromSoftware certainly seems to have its eyes firmly rooted on Nintendo’s latest console, with its next title, The Duskbloods , set to bring the same gothic flair from 2015’s Bloodborne when it releases sometime in 2026 as a Switch 2 exclusive. Despite already achieving such undeniable success, the sales of Elden Ring would undoubtedly continue to increase as the hype builds up for its upcoming spin-off, Elden Ring: Nightreign , which approaches its 30 May 2025 release for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
