The Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Ahmed Ibrahim, The Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Ahmed Ibrahim, has urged Christians across the country to embrace the values of unity and compassion, as they reflect on the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In a statement released on Friday, April 18, 2025, he indicated that Easter is a time to reaffirm one’s commitment to national cohesion. “This sacred season serves as a powerful reminder of the virtues of sacrifice, forgiveness, compassion, and the triumph of hope over despair.

The Ministry acknowledges the significance of Easter in the lives of millions of Ghanaians and the role of faith-based institutions in promoting peace, social harmony, and national development”, it said. The statement urged Ghanaians to reflect on the core principles of the season. “As we observe this holy period, the Ministry encourages all citizens to reflect deeply on the enduring values of unity, love, and service to humanity, which are at the heart of the Easter celebrations.
