Titus Odo, the Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party (LP) in Enugu State, has officially joined the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Odo was accompanied in his defection by Prince Emeka Mamah, the former Commissioner for Chieftaincy Affairs and the State Coordinator for the Peter Obi Presidential Campaign in the 2023 elections. This marks a return to the PDP for both Odo and Mamah, who had previously left the party for the LP during the 2023 general elections.
At the PDP State Secretariat, the state chairman, Dr. Martin Chukwunwike, welcomed the two defectors and expressed his satisfaction with their decision to return to the party. He emphasized that Governor Peter Mbah had directed efforts to bring back former party members who had left for various reasons.
“We are pleased to have them back, and we believe the party is now on strong footing as we look ahead to 2027,” Chukwunwike said, stressing the importance of unity within the party as they prepare for the next elections. During their formal reception, Odo shared his reasons for rejoining the PDP, citing the significant developmental progress in the state under Governor Mbah. “I am delighted to return to my home party.
Governor Mbah’s outstanding developmental efforts and the progress in our state played a major role in my decision,” Odo said. He also mentioned the defection of Dr. Chijioke Edeoga, the LP’s gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 election, and the impressive achievements of Mr.
Uchenna Ogara, the Council Chairman in Igboeze North. Mamah, in his remarks, expressed his gratitude to the PDP leadership at the local, senatorial, and state levels for welcoming him back. He commended Governor Mbah for his outreach to those who had previously left the party, saying, “I am personally pleased with the governor’s performance.
