When it comes to the internet, even the most positive post will receive hate, but that didn't stop Storm Reid from calling out a commenter who tried to rain on her parade. Storm, who's most recently known for her work on Euphoria and her Emmy-winning performance on The Last of Us , is also a soon-to-be graduate of USC (University of Southern California) from the School of Dramatic Arts. In fact, one of the reasons Storm revealed she wouldn't be returning for Season 3 of Euphoria was so that she could finish her degree.
And if you follow any of her social pages, then you probably know she's been having the time of her life enjoying everything her university has to offer. So, you can understand how strange it was when she received a comment on TikTok shaming her for attending college. Earlier this week, a person on TikTok wrote , "College isn't a flex, success is.
And college isn't needed to be successful. College just pushes people into debt. Unless you're becoming a doctor or something, a lot of people don't even use their degrees.
" When I checked to see if this comment was in response to a previous video Storm posted, it took me to a playful video of Storm dancing with her mom, so the source of what drove this person to write this unwarranted comment still baffles me. "What do we call my success, plus going to college," Storm replied . "My success plus getting a degree? What are we gonna call that? Let me know.
" "And you're right, college isn't for everybody, but it was for me. I wanted to go. I felt like I needed to go.
I was able to do that and work full time. I wanted to work and I wanted to further my education, so I did that." Storm revealed she's graduating in three weeks (on May 16 to be exact).
When she applied, she said the acceptance rate was 12%, and it has currently dropped to 8%. "I'm all for people having their own opinions," Storm continued. "But let's be real.
Let's tap into reality. I did that. And I also got an Emmy while doing it.
..in college.
..20 years old.
..junior in college.
" "So, babe, back to my first question: What do we call being in college — about to graduate actually — what do we call graduating and being successful? What do we call it? I would love to know?" Many fans came to her defense and applauded her response: And that's that on THAT! I love the way she handled it. Everyone's entitled to their opinion about college, but when you try to make someone who enjoyed college feel bad about their decision, that's when it becomes rude.
