From Lateef Dada, OsogboAlhaji Shuaib Oyedokun, a former Deputy National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and now an All Progressives Congress (APC) member, has urged Hon. Wole Oke to join the APC and support President Bola Tinubu.Oke, the House of Representatives member for Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, resigned from the PDP in Osun State on Wednesday, April 23.

Oyedokun described the resignation as timely, stating, “I received the resignation of Hon. Wole Oke with delight. It is long overdue, and it is coming at the right time when many people are consulting us about their intention to move to APC.

”Oyedokun, who defected to the APC in May 2024, argued that Tinubu needs Oke’s support, saying, “All of us should come together and work hard to support Bola Ahmed Tinubu to succeed. I’m calling on Wole Oke to come and give Tinubu support.” He attributed Oke’s exit to ongoing issues within the PDP, noting, “The situation that prompted me to predict the defection of many members one year ago has not changed.

It is even getting worse.”Oyedokun cited his own departure, as a former PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) member and Osun Elders Committee Chairman, to deteriorating party ideals and governance under Governor Ademola Adeleke. He added, “With the resignation of Oke, PDP has lost a very big politician in Osun.
