FAIRFIELD — Fairfield's Terrance "Wrong Turn" Saeteurn will defend his flyweight title in Urijah Faber's latest A1 Combat Series card on Friday night north of Wheatland. Saeteurn will take on challenger Isiah Torres of Pueblo, Colorado, in one of four title fights at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain, 3317 Forty Mile Road, in Wheatland. It is part of Faber's A1 Combat 27.
The 28-year-old Armijo High School graduate will be in his first fight since winning the A1 title in September. "It should be a breakthrough year for me to make it to the big show," Saeteurn told the Daily Republic in March. "If I can put on a good performance, there is no reason why I can't be fighting for a UFC position.
" Saeteurn carries a professional mixed martial arts record of 7-1. He defeated Carlos Puente Jr. by submission in the second round of that September bout in Wheatland when he put Puente in a rear-naked choke hold that forced the Orange County fighter to tap out.
It was his fourth straight victory. The 27-year-old Torres has a record of 7-2-1. His last fight came March 1 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, when he defeated David Miramontes by strikes at the 3:08 mark of the first round.
Saeteurn scored a technical knockout in the first round during a May 2024 bout against Stav Schwartz, also in Wheatland. Saeteurn had the 20-year-old native of Israel up against the cage when he delivered a pulverizing right hand that put Schwartz down. He continued to deliver a flurry of blows with both hands before the fight was stopped in under four minutes.
Saeteurn had won his last two fights by unanimous decision prior to his win in May 2024. His last came on Jan. 19, 2024, when he defeated Miguel Ceja of Anaheim.
He defeated David Lopez of Rainbow one fight earlier on Sept. 8, 2023. As an amateur, Saeteurn went into the cage for the first time in 2018 and posted an 8-1 record before turning pro.
He now works and trains out of the Train 4 Life Center in Suisun City. More information is available on the fight and tickets can be purchased at a1combat.com .
