Popular Assamese actor Rohit Basfore , known for his acting in The Family Man , was found dead near the Garbhanga Forest Waterfall in Assam on Sunday evening. Best known for his role in the upcoming season of the spy-comedy thriller The Family Man 3, Rohit Basfore was found dead in the Garbhanga Forest on Sunday evening after his friends and families alerted Guwahati Police officials of his sudden disappearance on Sunday around 12:30 pm. The OTT actor had moved back from Mumbai to Guwahati a few months ago.
Rohit had left his house on Sunday to hangout with his ‘friends’ however when his family tried to reach him, they were unable to contact him. Few hours later the family received a phone call from one of his friends where they were informed about his death. According to a report from Odisha Bytes, Rohit had earlier gotten into a parking dispute with Ranjit Basfore, Ashok Basfore, and Dharam Basfore who then allegedly threatened to kill him.
The actor's kin has also pointed out towards another man named Amardeep, a gym owner, who had allegedly invited Rohit to the said ‘hangout’. Since the reporting of these allegations and an autopsy report from the Guwahati Medical College, indicating multiple injuries on his body, the police are now tracing a huge possibility of murder by the accused who are now on the run and nowhere to be found. An official said “An autopsy was performed at the Guwahati Medical College Hospital on Monday.
Multiple injuries were discovered on the body, including wounds on his head, face, and other parts. We are investigating the case, but the four accused are on the run as of now". The third season of the series lead by Manoj Bajpayee is still under works and is being expected to release in the late November of 2025.
